Rebirth and Revamp

So as it always goes, it is time to rededicate myself to this here blog. I will be revamping chriscarley.com to be an online business card so to speak for my photography business. sayschris.com will be where I post stuff as I used to here. As well I hope to finally launch my etsy shop and my zombie website by the end of the year.

Till next time.

Origins of My Polaroids

Alright, so I finally found time to show you just where these polaroids are popping up from.

My SX-70 and cache of film

Ah, my beautiful Polaroid SX-70 Land Camera. I found it tucked away in my mother’s closet. Apparently it had been my grandpa’s and he had passed it down to her.

As you can see I am using Polaroid 600 film in it even though it was not designed to use it. I use the card and ND filter trick to take my photos. Even though this does take some of the spontaneity out of it it is well worth it. I love the way the photos come out.

I have discovered a passion for film photography and in particular that of cameras and film that produce an unexpected or unpredictable product. If you have the drive and money to pick up a Polaroid camera and some film before the stockpiles run out I would highly recommend it.

Alamo Ritz – Captured As It Should Be

Alamo Drafthouse Ritz

After happening across a cache of some more Polaroid 600 film I decided to expand my photographs to different spots around Austin. In particular I like the old style sign of the Alamo Ritz downtown.

My Brother, Trapped In A Polaroid!

Anthony

As you can see I have recently acquired a Polaroid SX-70 Land Camera, some 600 film and a ND4 filter. Unfortunately Polaroid has stopped producing instant film so hopefully The Impossible Project will be successful. As it stands I have 48 exposures left. I’ll post tomorrow about how I got my hands on all of this.
